The Story of Ken

The unknown Ken

In so many years’ acquaintance with Ken, I’ve learned far more about him than his “girlfriend” Barbie has ever suspected.

These photographic revelations of the secret and unknown life of Ken have been made over a period of more than forty years. Ken is, in fact, a superhero, who stands in the same relation to Barbie as Clark does to Lois. For while Barbie sees Ken as bland, blond, and boring, not in any way as exciting as the unavailable adventurer Joe, the truth is that behind the backs of all of us, Ken has been living a life of perpetual excitement.

I could have called this series “The Perils of Ken”, but the big difference between Ken and Pauline is that Pauline always escapes. Ken, on the other hand, has succumbed many times, in almost all cases a victim of the machinations of the notorious and nefarious Jørgensen gang. Death is not always the topic of these views, however—indeed, we sometimes see scenes of the greatest exaltation and spiritual illumination. Ken’s adventures are uplifting in the truest sense.

Ken always recognized that he was
