Saturday, when we would pile into the vans for our last ride together, to take leave of our fellow walkers in Seattle. But Steve and Maribeth offered us the opportunity to take one more short walk before breakfast, to the Marymere Falls. It would be a mile at most in each direction, and Mark and I jumped at the chance.
It was just around sunrise, and the low sun illuminated fogbanks rolling in—or
were they rolling away?—across the lake (left thumbnail:

Early in the morning, it was fairly dark walking under the trees.

The Marymere Falls were especially nice at this time of day. The left picture

taken from a lower vantage point than the right

After breakfast, we got into the vans, and drove to Port Townsend, where we stayed long enough to walk around and shop, and then have lunch. As I recall, I had my camera hanging off my neck, but I didn’t see fit to photograph anything. We did spend lots of time stopping into shops, and bought a few things for friends.
You get onto Bainbridge Island from the west by bridge, but to go the last distance to
Seattle, you need to take a ferry. Here some of us are, when the vessel was still fairly
close to Bainbridge. That’s Michael, Steve (looking to the left), and behind him Regan,
then Ray, Jim, Virginia, and Dede (obscuring Mark).

We prevailed on another traveler to take many many pictures of the whole group.
