Foggy morning looking east to the pier

The morning was cloudy and slightly foggy - I woke up at 6:30am and gave serious consideration to getting some more sleep. Instead I got up to go walk on the beach as low tide was at 5:30 that morning. When I came downstairs, I discovered Devlin was already up and coloring the driveway with chalk drawings, but that she had locked herself out of the house. She joined me for the walk. The tide was very low as there was a full moon the night before and a lot of beach was exposed. I decided not to walk out on the sand bars as it was an hour past low and the tide was already coming in. We did walk in the shallows finding a small sand dollar and numerous hermit crabs. As we were down at the jetty, we spotted Cindy jogging toward us with Kate the dog on their morning walk. Adrienne joined us shortly thereafter, and we chatted a bit, and then Devlin and I walked back as Cindy and Adrienne continued the morning exercise.

Even before breakfast, I called the cable company to see about the internet connection. After various attempts to fix the problem remotely, we scheduled a service visit. I decided not to wait for the two hour window tomorrow, but accepted a "forced" appointment which requires me to stay local until 7pm.

Breakfast occurred in waves, with Devlin eating cereal before anyone got up, and Maddy doing the same shortly after we got back. Jonathan cooked bacon and eggs and toast. Harris joined us for bacon and toast. We forgot to obtain "bread sweet" which in our parlance is anything sweet that's applied to toast/english muffins/etc. Cindy however brought over a jar of jam from the Cottage - she thought she was bringing the Damson plum jam obtained at Mom's suggestion for Jonathan. Turned out it was the blackberry variety. So after breakfast, the jams were swapped between the houses and the Damson plum variety now graces the breakfast table here.

After breakfast, Devlin prepared an apple pie, making the crust from scratch. There were several calls to her mom, back in Greene, for details, and much consultation (and some assistance) from the sisters.

Dinner was tuna and dessert was Devlin's apple pie.

Devlin shows off her apple pie.

Adrienne and Robert prepare to 'decorate' the pie with either whipped cream or vanilla ice cream - or both!
