The tide recedes.

This morning Jonathan made French toast for the two of us with leftover shortbread from the peach shortcake two days previous. It was quite tasty! The shot above is the morning tide receding from the flats.

Nancy arrived a bit after lunch time, thoughtfully bringing her own linens for her two night stay.

Cindy, Mike, Mason, and Madison went out in the kayaks; M'lyn, Diane, Devlin and Harris rode their bikes to OOB where Devlin bought sunglasses and Harris a book.

Cindy returning from a kayak trip across the river and up the Nonesuch River.

Mason (unlike his uncle) deliberately capsized his kayak to demonstrate how to get back on board.

Mason has managed to climb on top of the kayak, but not yet reseated. Maddy begins to circle him.

He's still working on getting reseated, as Maddy continues to circle.

Finally reseated in the kayak, and Maddy has completed her circuit around him.

Mason and Cindy. Now back in the kayak, Mason checks in with his Mom.

I was aiming at the gulls in the water amid the marsh grass.

During cocktail hour, I saw the shortest train I’ve ever seen on the track across the marsh - one engine and two closed hopper cars. For dinner that evening, Cindy cooked swordfish, green beans; I made a curry potato salad and ‘no-bake’ key lime pie using a recipe that I got from Nancy and Ellen.

Duffy and her son Jacob arrived in the evening from Rhode Island. Duffy and M’lyn met while waiting with kids at the bus stop, and became friends. The lasagna recipe M’lyn prepared on Monday night was Duffy’s. Duffy stayed with M’lyn, Diane and Walter at their rental, while Jacob stayed at the Little House.
